World Environment Day 2023 : River Cleaning
On the first day, 01/06/2023, we organized a river cleaning exercise in which we mobilized volunteers clean up Limbe River that passes through the Botanic Garden. The river had been polluted with plastic waste, and the exercise was aimed at restoring the health of the river and promoting a clean environment.
We mobilized volunteers from the local community and provided them with gloves and trash bags. The volunteers worked together to collect and dispose of the plastic waste. The exercise was successful we were able to remove a significant amount of waste from the river and in promoting community engagement and raising awareness about the negative impact of plastic waste on the environment.
